Trinkets Guide

Every equippable Trinket, how boss selection works, and which Type assignments win runs.

Last updated:

Trinkets are one of the biggest additions in the July 30, 2026 full release. Unlike Relics — which appear randomly from the pool — Trinkets are chosen after Act Boss victories and permanently assigned to a Dude Type for the rest of that run. Butterscotch’s launch announcement framed the core question: “Should I give my Wizard Dudes ADHD, or give my Samurai Dudes a Taser?”

This guide explains how Trinket selection works, ranks the most impactful Trinkets at launch, and shows how to pair them with Relics for broken synergies.

How Trinkets Work

  1. Defeat an Act Boss during a Main Run, Daily Dude, Ensemble, or Rematch run
  2. Choose from 3–4 Trinket options — each option targets a Dude Type on your current roster
  3. Assign the Trinket to that Type — every Dude of that Type gains the Trinket effect for the rest of the run
  4. Trinkets do not persist between runs — you earn fresh Trinkets every run, like Relics

Trinkets stack with Relics and family synergies. A Trinket that changes how a Type attacks can multiply a Relic that triggers on attack or heal events.

S-Tier Trinkets at Launch

ADHD (Wizard Dude)

Dramatically increases spell cast frequency. On a high spell-power Wizard squad, this can triple effective DPS. Pair with Clerical Error and Bloody Talisman for Fantasy sustain/damage loops.

Taser (Samurai Dude)

Adds stun chance to Samurai attacks. Stuns interrupt enemy actions — critical against the G.O.A.T. and Ram minions on round 105. Combine with Knight Dude taunt frontlines so Samurai can focus stunned targets.

Life Insurance (Finance Dude)

Amplifies Finance Dude income mechanics. On economy-heavy runs, this snowballs Gold faster than any other Trinket snowballs damage. See Newbie Tips for Business Dude compound interest timing.

Baseball Bat (Action family)

Adds knockback and melee burst — strong on Samurai or Knight Types when you need frontline control without full magic scaling.

Medical License (Employed / Medic line)

Turns healers into hybrid roles — Medic as tank under General Dude is a documented launch-week strategy. Pairs with overheal → Temp HP Relics.

A-Tier Trinkets

  • Face Tattoo — aggression boost for burst Types (Ninja, Samurai)
  • Therapy — sustain for long Endless pushes past round 110
  • Stealth Boot (Ninja Dude) — survivability for glass cannon backlines
  • Circuit (Electrician Dude) — Cheat Death synergy with Circuit Breaker Relic

Trinket Selection Strategy

Before the Boss Fight

Know which 2–3 Types your run depends on. Trinket options only appear for Types currently on your roster — dropping a Type before a boss means losing access to its Trinkets.

At Selection

Ask three questions:

  1. Does this Trinket fix a weakness? (Taser for boss control, Medical License for healer fragility)
  2. Does this Trinket multiply a Relic I already have? (ADHD + Clerical Error on Wizard/Cleric core)
  3. Will I keep this Type until round 105? — do not assign a premium Trinket to a Type you plan to bench

Star Backfill Note

Gold and Silver Stars for Trinkets earned in Tier 2 and Tier 3 backfill lower tiers. If you need Trinket collection progress, higher tiers are faster — see Challenge Tiers.

Build Examples with Trinkets

Wizard ADHD + Cleric sustain: Wizard Dudes cast faster while Cleric keeps the squad alive. Add Bloody Talisman for attack speed stacking on every heal pulse.

Samurai Taser + Knight taunt: Knight holds aggro; Samurai stun-locks priority targets. Strong pre-G.O.A.T. setup for round 105.

Finance Life Insurance + Business Dude: Skip early Relic spending, invest with Business Dude, buy out the shop late. Adaptive Relic icon shrink exists because this build collects that many Relics.

Medic Medical License + General Dude: Medic tanks while General buffs squad — weird but viable for Tier 3 experimentation per official tips.

Common Trinket Mistakes

  • Assigning to a Type you will replace — Trinkets stick to Types, not individual Dudes
  • Ignoring boss-prep Trinkets — Taser and Therapy matter more at round 105 than marginal DPS Trinkets on wave 40
  • Splitting across five Types — five different Trinkets on five families dilutes synergy; double down on your core 2 Types
  • Forgetting Smuggler Dude — Wandering Smuggler Dude can add off-roster Family Relics that pair with Trinkets you already chose
FAQ

Frequently Asked Questions

Quick answers to the most common questions about How Many Dudes.

Do Trinkets carry over to the next run?

No. Trinkets last for the current run only. Each new run requires earning Trinkets again from Act Bosses.

Can I change a Trinket after assigning it?

No. Trinket assignment is permanent for that run. Choose based on your long-term roster plan, not temporary needs.

Which Trinket is best for the G.O.A.T.?

Taser on Samurai Dude for stun control and Therapy or sustain Trinkets on healers are common round 105 picks. Boss needs vary — mobility and Cheat Death matter as much as raw DPS.

Are Trinkets in the demo?

The July 23, 2026 demo refresh previewed Trinkets. The full launch roster includes all Trinkets listed in official materials.
