Consumables & Recovery Tools
When to spend Dude Juice, hold Meteors, and save potions for Act Bosses, G.O.A.T., and Killipede.
Consumables are the short-term tools that save runs when Relics and roster jobs are not enough. Mis-spending them is one of the most common reasons players fail round 80+, the G.O.A.T., and the Killipede. This page covers the core items, timing rules, and achievement constraints.

Core Consumables
Dude Juice
Revives Knocked Out Dudes. Costs Gold whether you buy or stockpile. Your squad can often win while dragging a few KOs — they recover naturally after several waves.
Use when: a load-bearing Type is down (healer, taunt, primary carry) and the next fight will cascade.
Skip when: only fringe Regulars are down, or you are hunting Thirsty Dudes (beat round 80 with zero Juice all run).
Health Potion
Heals and can convert Overheal into Temporary Health. Buy before dense Act Bosses and the final corridor (rounds 101–105 on Tier 1).
Meteors
Stun and separate enemies. Best for packed screens and durable elites. For the Juggler achievement, throw the same enemy three times in one battle — save three Meteors for a tanky target, not a weak swarm that dies on hit one.
Bottled Lightning
Burst clear. The You In Particular achievement needs a zap on one target while 20+ enemies are present — wait for density, do not fire into an empty lane.
Burner Phones / Strange Spores
Repositioning and HP spread tools. Use to break bad openings rather than as default every-wave spends.
Nuke
Rare / high-impact. Nuclear Codes unlocks when you successfully launch one — hold until a fight actually needs the reset.
Timing Rules That Win Runs
- Early game (rounds 1–20): prefer Toughness / Max HP Relics over Juice spam. Learn which fights you can grind injured.
- Mid game (20–60): spend on Relics and Trinket setup first; keep a small Juice buffer for Merchant / Wandering events.
- Boss corridor: stop Business Dude long cycles and Scavenger loans; restock Juice + Health Potion + at least one disrupt (Meteor or Lightning).
- Endless / wave 123: density walls need AoE consumables more than single-target heals — see Endless Mode.
Achievement Constraints
| Achievement | Consumable rule |
|---|---|
| Thirsty Dudes | No Dude Juice for the entire run through round 80 |
| Iron Dude | No consumables during any boss fight (normal waves OK) |
| Juggler | Same enemy hit by Meteors ×3 in one battle |
| You In Particular | Bottled Lightning with 20+ enemies on screen |
| Nuclear Codes | Launch a Nuke |
For Iron Dude, ask before each boss: can this roster open without Meteor / Lightning / Potion / Juice? If no, abandon the achievement attempt and save the run.

Shop Priority vs Relics
Consumables lose value if your Relic Pool is incoherent. A focused Family pool plus one sustain Relic usually beats three Panic Juices. Order of operations:
- Lock roster jobs and Family focus
- Buy defining Relics
- Assign Trinkets after Act Bosses
- Fill consumable reserve for the next boss
Common Mistakes
- Juicing every KO the moment it happens
- Dumping all Meteors on trash waves before G.O.A.T. / Killipede
- Buying Juice with cash needed for a key Relic restock
- Attempting Thirsty Dudes and Iron Dude on the same learning run

Frequently Asked Questions
Quick answers to the most common questions about How Many Dudes.
Should I always revive with Dude Juice?
No. Revive when a core Type is missing and the next fight will cascade. Fringe KOs can wait for natural recovery — this is the official Hold the Juice advice.
How do I unlock Juggler?
Hit the same enemy with Meteors three times in one battle. Save multiple Meteors for a durable elite or boss, not a swarm that dies instantly.
What does Iron Dude ban?
Any consumable use during boss fights. Normal wave consumables are allowed.
What should I hold for round 105?
At least one Dude Juice for a core revive, Health Potion or Temp HP tools, and one disrupt (Meteor or Bottled Lightning) for Ram / density spikes.
