G.O.A.T. Boss Guide

Round 105 checklist — survive the burst, clear the Rams, and earn your first Gold Star.

Last updated:

The G.O.A.T. is the Tier 1 final boss on round 105. Clearing it is the first major milestone in How Many Dudes?: it unlocks Challenge Tier 2, contributes to Gold Star collection, and opens the door to Endless Mode after any final-boss win.

Many runs die on 105 even after cruising through round 104. The boss is not a bigger wave — it is a different test. This guide breaks down what the G.O.A.T. actually asks for and how to build toward it from mid-run onward. For tier unlocks and star backfill after you win, see Challenge Tiers.

What the G.O.A.T. Tests

Official Butterscotch tips and launch-week community clears agree on four pressure points:

  1. Huge health pool — short fights favor burst; long fights favor sustain and summons
  2. Burst damage — glass Dudes without Cheat Death or Temporary Health evaporate
  3. High mobility — the boss crosses the arena quickly; slow melee piles chase into bad angles
  4. Ram minion swarms — hundreds of Rams split aggro and punish single-target tunnel vision

If your squad only answers one of these, expect a wall at 105.

Pre-Boss Checklist (Rounds 80–104)

Treat the late Tier 1 stretch as G.O.A.T. prep, not autopilot farming.

Survivability

  • Stack Max HP, Toughness, or Temporary Health on Knight, Spartan, or other frontliners
  • Prioritize at least one Cheat Death option: Electrician Circuit Breaker, Vampire Bat Wings, or a Trinket that prevents a fatal KO
  • Keep a healer online — Cleric or Medic — so revive Gold (Dude Juice) is not your only plan

Damage Profile

  • Bring AoE or summon pressure so Rams do not bury your carry
  • Keep a single-target spike for the boss itself (Viking, Samurai, Wizard with focused Relics)
  • Avoid all-in glass comps unless you already have multiple Cheat Death layers

Mobility & Positioning

  • Prefer Dudes or Relics that keep damage relevant while the boss relocates
  • Reposition before 105: tanks forward, fragile DPS behind, healers mid — see Positioning
  • Do not enter the fight with your entire economy unspent; buy the last Relic that closes a hole

Economy

  • Business Dude compound interest and shop Gold are for this fight as much as Endless
  • Hold consumables for the boss window instead of panic-spending on easy rounds
  • Details in Dudeconomy and Relic Pool & Economy

A reliable Gold Star shape looks like:

TankKnight, SpartanAbsorb burst, hold Rams
Summon / distractNecroDude, Zombie supportPull aggro off carries
Primary damageViking, Wizard, SamuraiBurn boss HP
Heal / sustainCleric, MedicUndo chip and spikes
FlexVampire, Cowboy, FinanceCheat Death, peel, or Gold

Community deep-run favorites often land near Viking + NecroDude + Spartan + Cleric plus a flex slot. Treat that as a template, not a mandatory five — Relic RNG should still steer Flyer choices.

Fight Plan

  1. Open on Rams if they threaten to overwhelm — ignore the boss for a few seconds if your backline is about to disappear
  2. Re-focus the G.O.A.T. once the swarm is thinned and tanks are stable
  3. Spend consumables on lethal windows, not on cosmetic HP bars
  4. Watch Cheat Death procs — if your carry already burned its escape, peel with Cowboy lasso or tank taunts
  5. Do not chase forever — if your damage only works in a pocket of the arena, reposition between waves when the UI allows

Common Failures

  • Cruising 104 with a wave-clear team that cannot tank burst — rebuild earlier
  • No healer until late — Medic/Cleric in the first two Flyer windows saves massive Juice
  • Hoarding Gold into the boss — unused cash does not block Rams
  • Five Families, zero identity — diluted Relic Pool often means no Cheat Death when you need it
  • Skipping Tier practice — after one clear, sample Tier 2 for backfill; see Metaprogression

After You Win

  • Tier 2 unlocks — you do not need a perfect Tier 1 collection first
  • Endless continues if you keep the run going past the boss
  • Stars backfill when you earn Relic/Trinket stars on higher tiers
  • Update your next attempt with notes from the fight: which Relic was missing, which Dude died first, whether Rams or burst killed you
FAQ

Frequently Asked Questions

Quick answers to the most common questions about How Many Dudes.

What round is the G.O.A.T.?

The Tier 1 G.O.A.T. appears on round 105. Beating it unlocks Challenge Tier 2 and contributes to Gold Star progress.

Why do I die on 105 after easy rounds?

The boss combines a large HP pool, burst hits, high mobility, and Ram minion swarms. Wave-clear comps that ignore tankiness or Cheat Death often collapse here.

Do I need a specific five-Dude meta team?

No. Cover tank, damage, sustain, and minion control. Relic and Trinket RNG should still guide your Flyers more than a rigid tier-list copy.

What should I buy right before the fight?

Fill the biggest hole: Cheat Death, Toughness/Max HP, AoE for Rams, or a consumable buffer. Do not enter round 105 with a full Gold wallet and an empty Relic row.

Does beating the G.O.A.T. unlock Endless?

Endless Mode continues after defeating any final boss in any tier. The G.O.A.T. is the Tier 1 path into that loop and into Tier 2.
