Endless Mode Guide

What happens after the final boss, how scaling works, and how to push past round 110+.

Last updated:

Endless Mode continues your run after you defeat any final boss in any Challenge Tier. Butterscotch confirmed at launch that Endless is available once Tier 1, 2, or 3 finale is cleared — you do not need to beat all three tiers first.

This guide covers Endless scaling, the community-identified wave 123 filter wall, economy discipline for long runs, and builds that survive past round 110.

How to Unlock Endless Mode

  1. Start a run in Main Run, Daily Dude, Ensemble, or Rematch
  2. Progress through your tier’s Act Bosses
  3. Defeat the final boss (Tier 1: G.O.A.T. on round 105)
  4. Choose to continue in Endless instead of ending the run

Endless uses the same squad, Relics, Trinkets, and Gold you had at the boss kill. No reset — your build must already be viable for what comes next.

What Changes in Endless

  • Enemy density increases every wave — toddler hordes become polar bear avalanches
  • Boss modifiers appear on later Endless waves (demo patch notes added Serrated and Resilient modifiers past round 110)
  • Economy pressure — Relic shop offers thin out; Business Dude investments pay off here
  • Positioning matters more — stagger tanks in slots 1, 3, 5 past wave 50 per Tips

Endless is where community records live. Demo-era reports reach round 120+; full release adds more Dudes and Trinkets that may push records higher or shift meta.

Wave 123 — The Filter Wall

Community Endless data identifies wave 123 as a major difficulty spike:

  • ~1,666 Polar Bears (high HP + damage)
  • ~1,000 Honey Badgers (fast attack speed)
  • 2,500+ total enemies on the field

Builds that clear wave 123 need three pillars:

  1. High DPS — Viking, Wizard, or scaling Undead cores
  2. Crowd control — Necromancer skeleton taunts splitting enemy focus
  3. Sustain — Cleric healing pulses or Medic emergency heals

Pure tanking fails at this density. See the Tier List for community-verified Viking + Necromancer + Spartan + Cleric compositions.

Use Rematch Mode to retry Endless-viable squads without Main Run opening RNG.

Economy for Long Endless Runs

Butterscotch’s official advice applies doubly in Endless:

  • Business Dude compound interest ($1K → $2K → $4K → $8K) funds late Relic buys
  • Do not burn Gold on Juice unless a KO cascade is imminent — see Newbie Tips
  • Workin’ Dude early — extra Gold per win compounds over 60+ minute runs
  • Pocket Dice metaprogression rerolls shop options — unlock via Collections before pushing records

Players who reach round 120+ often report buying every Relic in the pool by round 105 — plan for shop-heavy late game.

These compositions survived demo Endless past wave 120; full-release balance may shift them:

Viking + Necromancer + Spartan + Cleric Death scaling, taunt frontline, sustain. Community-verified past wave 120.

Undead Army (Zombie + Necromancer ×2) Infinite scaling via ally death loops. Fragile to burst without Cheat Death Relics.

Wizard + Cleric Fantasy core Bloody Talisman + Clerical Error — healing feeds damage feeds healing.

Medic + Paladin + Bard (beginner-friendly) Launch-week community recommendation for stable mid-game before specialized Endless min-maxing.

  • Healer online before round 80 (Cleric or Medic)
  • 200+ Gold reserve for emergency Relic shop visits
  • Trinket assigned to core Types — see Trinkets guide
